About me
Therapy approach
My therapeutic style is empathic and collaborative, and it's
rooted in evidence-based approaches. In the beginning of therapy, I find it useful to set goals for treatment, so that we can measure progress. I believe that therapy works best when my clients are active participants in their treatment, and I’m always there for my clients to help examine and remove barriers that keep them blocked from their goals. I tailor treatment to each of my client’s unique needs and find it incredibly rewarding when we create a sense of vibrancy, aliveness, and forward movement in therapy.
Education and traininG
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Arizona, where my research focused on examining the interplay between emotions, relationships, and health. I completed my clinical internship at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and I was also a postdoctoral fellow at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. Over the course of my education, I received extensive training in multiple empirically-supported treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and systemic, structural, and emotion-focused approaches to working with individuals and couples.
